The year Navigo Nepal expanded from local initiatives to a nationwide movement.

January 7 – 13, 2024

Project Planning

Navigo Nepal's founding team gathered to plan the organization's first major initiatives. The week-long planning session covered project timelines, content strategy, volunteer recruitment plans, and school outreach approaches. This marked the official beginning of Navigo Nepal's structured operations.

January 16, 2024

First Preliminary Survey

A qualitative survey was conducted on more than 100 students across different districts and schools to understand the major problems they face in learning. The survey was done online through Zoom calls, ensuring every student's ideas were recorded. A quantitative survey was also conducted at specific schools to assess the state of extracurricular activities, giving Navigo Nepal a clear picture of what students needed.

Content Development

Based on survey insights, the team developed presentation content using Canva and MS PowerPoint. Presentations incorporated pictures, graphs, games, videos, and animations with minimal text to make them visually appealing and engaging. Multiple iterations were made with feedback from students to refine the materials into their final form.

April 15 – 18, 2024

What's Next: Nuwakot

The first official program was conducted at Shree Chandra Jyoti School in Pipaltar, Nuwakot. A total of 100 students from grades 9 and 10 received sessions covering options after 10th grade, different streams, courses, colleges, and extracurricular activities. The session was divided into two parts: career navigation and student club development. This was Navigo Nepal's first major field success.

What's Next: Dhading

Following the success in Nuwakot, a similar program was conducted in Dhading district. The session structure and outcomes mirrored the Nuwakot program, reinforcing the effectiveness of the approach and demonstrating that the model could be replicated across different regions.

April 30 – May 2024

Personality Development Sessions

Navigo Nepal conducted its first three-day personality development session, followed by an extended session. These sessions focused on leadership skills, communication, teamwork, and critical thinking through interactive games and activities, establishing the foundation for Navigo Nepal's leadership development program.

June 5, 2024

World Environment Day

In collaboration with USAID Clean Air and UNICEF, Navigo Nepal organized environmental awareness events in a community school in Kathmandu. Activities included bottle gardening, environmental-themed face painting, painting exhibitions, educational pamphlets, and a rally for environmental awareness. The events were featured on the official social media pages of UNICEF Nepal and USAID Clean Air.

June 6 – 17, 2024

Hawa Khakura Garam Campaign

Following World Environment Day, Navigo Nepal organized further rallies and awareness programs for environmental protection under the "Hawa Khakura Garam" initiative, keeping the momentum of environmental consciousness alive in the communities served.

Partnership with Gurubaa

Navigo Nepal officially announced its partnership with Gurubaa, Nepal's largest educational content creator with over 780,000 followers and 128 million views. The co-founders of Gurubaa have supported Navigo Nepal with meeting spaces and website development, marking a significant milestone in organizational growth.

June 18 – July 10, 2024

Volunteer Recruitment & Orientation

A call for volunteers was launched, followed by a rigorous selection process involving application reviews and interviews. The current cohort was finalized and underwent a comprehensive orientation program to prepare for field work across multiple schools and districts.

July 12 – 19, 2024

AIESEC: World's Largest Lesson

Navigo Nepal partnered with AIESEC for the World's Largest Lesson program, focusing on SDG 13 — Climate Action. Members were distributed across schools in Kathmandu including Steiner Academy, Mount SEB School, Everest School, NJSN High School, Navjyoti School, and Asha Mandir School. Sessions introduced the Sustainable Development Goals and climate change awareness to hundreds of students.

July 21 – 24, 2024

What's Next: Banke

The campaign expanded to Banke district, bringing career counseling and club development sessions to students in the Terai region. This marked an important step in the nationwide expansion strategy, reaching students beyond the Kathmandu Valley and central hills.

July 26, 2024 – Present

What's Next: Kathmandu & Nationwide

The largest phase of the campaign has been running across Kathmandu and expanding nationwide. Schools visited in Kathmandu include Whiz Kids International, Yuva Sahavagita, Jyoti Academy, Advanced English Boarding, Shree Tangal Secondary, Columbus International, Arunima Educational Foundation, Shangri-la Public, and Pashupati Mitra Higher Secondary. Nationwide reach includes schools in Nuwakot, Dhading, Parbat, Baglung, Sindhupalchowk, Rupandehi, Pokhara, and Rasuwa.

Outside Kathmandu

Shree Chandra Jyoti School (Nuwakot), Dhading district schools, Parbat district schools, Baglung district schools, Shree Bhumeshwori Secondary School (Sindhupalchowk), Rupandehi district schools, Pokhara district schools, Rasuwa district schools, and Banke district schools. The mission to connect with communities across Nepal has led the team to numerous villages, reaching students from every caste, ethnicity, and background.

Looking Ahead

Navigo Nepal aims to reach every possible corner of the country where there is a lack of exposure for students. With proper funding and recognition, the organization is determined to expand from 24 districts to over 35 districts, ensuring that students in even the most remote areas receive the guidance and opportunities they deserve.
